Espionage Thriller and Cross-Culture Satire

A new historical black comedy drama miniseries, "The Sympathizer," is set to premiere based on the 2015 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name.

Developed by Park Chan-wook of "Oldboy" and "The Handmaiden" fame and produced by Robert Downey Jr.'s Team Downey, the series follows a half-French, half-Vietnamese communist spy who infiltrates the South Vietnamese army during the final days of the Vietnam War.

The Sympathizer, played by Hoa Xuande, must grapple with his dual identities as a double agent and a man struggling to find his place in a world torn apart by war and ideology.

The series boasts a talented cast including Robert Downey Jr., Toe An Le, Fred Nguyen Khan, and Hoa Xuande.
