Switzerland kicked off their Euro 2024 journey with a convincing 3-1 triumph over Hungary in a tight contest in Cologne. The victory highlighted the importance of the opening clash as Germany's resounding 5-1 win over Scotland in the tournament opener had set the tone for a competitive group stage.

In the first half, Kwadwo Duah and Michel Aebischer put Switzerland in control with clinical goals, giving them a 2-0 lead heading into the break.
